Hopes...

364

For two weeks all I've heard from Chiefs fans is, "Put in Kyle Orton! Start Kyle Orton! Tyler Palko is a bum! Todd Haley, You're a bum for not starting Orton! Orton! Orton! Orrrrrrrrrtoooooonnnnnnnn!"

In the first quarter of the Bears game the TV camera would cut to a picture of Kyle Orton standing on the sideline between every play. "Is this when Kyle Orton will come in? Is Haley getting ready to pull the trigger on Palko? Oh no, Palko didn't complete the pass, (CUT TO A SHOT OF KYLE ORTON WITH HIS HANDS DOWN THE FRONT OF HIS PANTS) is it Orton Time?"

Finally the 1st quarter ended.  The Chiefs had the ball. Out, onto the field, shining like the sun, trotted Kyle Orton.

On his first (and only) play from scrimmage, Orton hit his hand on the helmet on a rushing Chicago lineman, dislocating the index finger of his throwing hand...out for the game (maybe the rest of the year?)

Palko comes back in (with no back-up because the Chiefs de-activated Ricky Stanzi for the game) and leads the Chief's to a 10-3 victory.

Nice personnel move Pioli!
